ACSO assists Texas AG office in local arrest for Possession with intent to Promote Child PornographyFree Access


According to Atascosa County Sheriff David Soward on Friday morning, the Atascosa County Sheriff’s Office assisted the Texas Attorney General’s Office Criminals Investigation Division in an execution of a search warrant at a residence in the city of Poteet. The investigation was centered around possession and distribution of child pornography by the AG’s Office.

Arrested was Armando A. Vidales Jr., age 23, who gives an address just outside of Jourdanton.
Vidales, was charged with two counts of Possession with intent to Promote Child Pornography, both 2nd degree felonies, and was booked into the Atascosa County Jail.

His bonds are set at $160,000 set by J.P. Pct. 4 Jackie Bodden. Evidence found at the residence has led Atascosa County Sheriff’s Investigators to initiate a Sexual Assault of a Child investigation.

Vidales was taken into custody in San Antonio at a law enforcement academy that he was currently enrolled in.

“Due to the nature and sensitivity of the investigation, no further details will be released,”states ACSO Sheriff David Soward.
