ACLS Scholarship deadline April 15

The Atascosa County Livestock Show Association has always been a supporter of the outstanding efforts of the youth of our county and their willingness to put their talents to good use in the agricultural industry. Since 2000, ACLS has awarded approximately $60,000 in scholarships. The organization is now accepting scholarship applications for those planning to attend a college, university or accredited vocational or technical school.

Scholarship applications must be received by ACLS by April 15 to be considered. Applications may be due to your Ag Science teacher or County Agent prior to this date, so please check for specific due dates for each entity.

High school seniors who will graduate in the current year in which they exhibited in the ACLS Livestock Shows are eligible to apply if they are enrolled and actively participating in a 4-H or FFA club in Atascosa County at the time the application is submitted.

Selection criteria includes scholastic ability as well as involvement in ACLS Livestock Shows, volunteer and workday activities and leadership and youth organizations. An essay on career plans and goals will also be required as part of the application.

Funding for these scholarships is available thanks to those who support the annual Atascosa County Livestock Shows.
