Abraham Herbert Saenz, Jr. of Pleasanton passed away Sunday, October 27, 2019 at the age of 88. He was born in Lytle on June 27, 1931 to Abraham, Sr. and Aurora (Guerra) Saenz. Abraham was a barber by trade, but he devoted just as much of his time to his community. He served as a city councilman for Pleasanton for 33 years, and was very involved with the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, LULAC and the Pleasanton Park Complex. He was also a big supporter of the Boy Scouts. He will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Ermelinda (Gomez) Saenz; children, Daniel Saenz, Sr. and wife Della, Richard Anthony Saenz, Sr., Veronica Ann Saenz and Aurora Angelina Saenz; seven grandchildren; seven greatgrandchildren; sisters, Delia Huereca and husband Daniel, Mary Ann Gallegos and husband Ismael and Irma Saenz Luna and numerous nieces and nephews.

Abraham is preceded in death by his son, Ronald Saenz; parents, Abraham, Sr. and Aurora Saenz and brothers, Charlie Saenz, Sr. and Johnny Saenz, Sr.

Visitation was conducted at Hurley Funeral Home in Pleasanton on Sunday, November 3 from 2-9 p.m. with a rosary recited at 7 pm. Funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Andrew Catholic Church on Monday, November 4 at 10 a.m. followed by interment at San Ysidro Cemetery.
