Plan to attend an upcoming Alamo Area Council of Governments (AACOG) Outreach Event to be held in Atascosa County on Tuesday, September 29, 2015, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Pleasanton Civic Center, 115 N. Main Street, Pleasanton. The event is open to the public and we encourage everyone to attend to hear more about and apply for the various programs AACOG offers, and discover what other valuable services are available to them through the other organizations participating in the event.
AACOG programs featured at the road show include AACOG’s Alamo Area Agency on Aging, Alamo Regional Transit, Housing and Energy Conservation Program (Weatherization Assistance), Services for Veterans and their Families (including Call-A-Ride 4 Veterans), Natural Resources/Air Quality, and Resource Recovery.
AACOG brings an outreach event to one county per month, and Atascosa County is our destination in September. We encourage everyone to come learn more about the services AACOG offers. They can come any time between 10 and 2, visit with us and our wonderful partner organizations, ask questions, and even apply for services at the event. We will also have giveaways, door prizes, and refreshments, and WellMed will also provide blood pressure and glucose screenings, and health information,â•. said Tiffany Harris, AACOG Public Relations Coordinator.
Other participating organizations include Aetna, Pride PHC Services, Superior Health Plan, Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services, USDA, WellMed, and Workforce Solutions Alamo.
Note: Participation of these organizations in the AACOG Outreach event does not constitute AACOG endorsement).
This event is brought to you by Atascosa County and the cities of Charlotte, Christine, Jourdanton, Pleasanton, Poteet, and Lytle.
