Well it’s time for football, hot chocolate, and bonfires. To go with the theme this week of opening football play for our surrounding schools, I have to share this tidbit about “Coach Hollywood”. Coach Hollywood is my brother who was chosen as one of very few coaches in the Houston area to participate in the NFPlay 60, a group of National Football League players who are trying to get children involved with sports and play outside at least 60 minutes a day. Bill LeCompte was chosen to coach and play as quarterback against one of the Texans back-up quarterbacks. Needless to say, this man who has never played football and his team beat them 14 to 0. Bill then went on to coach the Katy All American Classic Football League Cougars to beat the reigning champion Spartans 32 to 0. The name “Coach Hollywood” came into play when news crew was filming for the evening newscast.
