55th annual Pleasanton Young Farmers’ Rodeo results announced



 

 

It didn’t happen in 2020, but wild horses couldn’t stop the Pleasanton Young Farmers from hosting the 55th annual Open Rodeo and Festival in 2021. Held August 20-21 at the Atascosa County Show Barn in Pleasanton, “The Richest Open Rodeo in Texas” awarded a total payout of $30,280 including $13,500 added money.

Atascosa Livestock Exchange sponsored the 2021 Cowboy of the Year Saddle which was awarded to Brandon Smith. William “Ernie” Bandy and Robert May were inducted into the South Texas Hall of Fame.

Pleasanton High School senior Autumn Guerra was crowned 2021 Cowboy Homecoming Queen. Princesses are Ally Sherley, Raylin Castillo, Erin Light and Linda Sanchez.

Sponsored by Clear Creek Ranchers Supply, buckles were awarded to All Around Champion Cowboy Forrest Fisher and All Around Champion Cowgirl Breanna Meyer. The calf scramble 1st prize bike was sponsored by Angie Cude Properties and 2nd-5th place ropes were provided by Ron and Sandy Rickaway.
