The Atascosa County Sheriff’s Department along with Crime Stoppers is hoping that a FIVE THOUSAND-DOLLAR cash reward being offered for one week only will help solve a robbery that occurred in the 10000 block of North State Highway 16, 2 miles north of Poteet.
On February 29, 2012 sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to a residence in the 10000 block of North SH 16 for a robbery. Deputies were informed by the homeowner’s daughter that at about 3:00 a.m. her elderly parents were awakened by someone kicking in their bedroom door. The homeowners stated 4 – 5 males wearing ski masks entered their bedroom carrying shotguns while one of the robbers demanded that they give him the money. The robbers tied up the elderly couple and ransacked the residence looking for money. The robbers were able to get away with a large amount of jewelry and an undisclosed amount of cash.
Sheriff’s investigators have some leads in this case and are in need of your assistance to help solve it.
