The 29th Jourdanton Volunteer Fire Dept. Cookoff held May 17-18 at St. Matthews was a smokin’ success. All funds raised will go towards purchasing a new fire truck for Jourdanton VFD. There were 44 cook-off teams who entered the cook-off and the consensus was that the event was wellrun, organized and tons of fun. Dianne Fly of Sweet Heat BBQ said about the cook-off, “It was a great event. Well run. We will be back. Thanks for all your hard work.”
In addition to the cookoff, the event had a Kids- Q-Nation cookoff, Ballet Folklorico Dancers, Methodist Air Life Helicopter tours, washer tournament, auction and the Allen Torans and Misty Blue Band with special guest Clifford Lyssy.
