Lupe G. Araiza of Pleasanton passed away, Thursday, April 8, 2021, at the age of 77. She was born in Pleasanton on January 19, 1944, to Pedro and Rosie (Romero) Garcia.
Lupe was known for her cooking, especially tamales. She had a great love for her family and enjoyed spending time with them and her beloved cats. She was a dedicated Cowboys fan and loved her Spurs. Lupe also loved going to the casino. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Pete, and Rosie Garcia; her son, Michael Pedraza; brothers, Sebastian Garcia and Pedro Garcia, Jr., sisters, Stella Garcia and Rosa Garcia, and husband Richard Araiza.
Lupe is survived by her daughter, Alison Pena and wife Kelly Ramon; son, David Garcia; step-son, Richard Araiza, Jr. and wife Stephanie; grandchildren, Amanda Pena (Roberto Saucedo), Michael Sanchez, Tiffany Sanchez (William Olson) Raul Garza, Antonio Pedraza, Jose Ramon, Jr., and Erica Ramon; great-grandchildren, Mercedes Cabrera, Weston Faz, Nolan Sanchez, Airabelle Garza, Aurora Saucedo, and Billy Olson. She is also survived by her sisters, Mary Helen Allega and Adela Bazan, and nieces and nephews, Edward Bazan, Melissa Bazan, Sebastian Garcia, Jr., Felisha Garcia, and Paul Flores as well as her most faithful companion, her cat Baby Daddy.
A memorial service in Lupe’s honor will be held on Saturday, May 22, 2021, at 5 pm at Lion’s Club, 114 Wyoming Blvd., Pleasanton, Texas.
