The McMullen County Livestock Show will get underway this Friday January 25 and Saturday, January 26. This two-day event showcases the hard work and commitment of the youth of McMullen County who have dedicated countless hours to their livestock projects. Exhibitors have the opportunity to show animals in the categories of market steers, commercial heifers, goats, lambs, swine, broilers and rabbits. Each category is judged by a qualified professional appointed by the Tilden Livestock Scholarship Association.

At the conclusion of the show, a professionally managed auction takes place where 100 percent of the show participants are allowed to sell their projects. Since 1990, the Tilden Livestock Scholarship Association has awarded over 160 scholarships totaling over $322,000 to graduates of McMullen County High School. The purpose of the organization is 100% charitable. In addition to awarding scholarships, the Tilden Livestock Scholarship Association is to establish and execute the rules and regulations for the McMullen County Jr. Livestock Show.
