JISD to hold school board election

Jourdanton ISD will have two contested races in the upcoming Nov. 3 school board election. In District 2, incumbent Rita Muñoz will face challenger Jennifer Iruegas. In District 3, write-in candidate Denise Williams will go against incumbent Phillip Netardus. The District 1 and 5 races will be cancelled, as they will be unopposed.

Poteet council adopts 2020-21 budget

Annual tax offices collections report



On Monday, Atascosa County Tax Assessor- Collector Loretta Holley presented the annual tax offices collections report. Commissioners approved Holley’s report. Holley said the base tax collected for 2019 is $20,649,014. The penalty and interest collected on that was $148,282. The county had to refund $48,404. From July 1, 2019, to June 30, 2020, the delinquency that was collected is $766,391. […]
