Sue Brown Rentfro - The Way I See It
Today, we will say goodbye to our dear friend Mark Cude. After a 10 month battle with melanoma cancer, the disease won.

Battle? Yes. Mark hit it head on, with determination, full force and an unending positive attitude.

Friend? Yes. My friendship with Mark began many years ago, far too many than I really want to admit. His brother, Weldon, and I were in the same second grade classroom with Mrs. Preston as our teacher. His mother, Bernadine, was our room mother and as such brought goodies to our class parties.

I remember her bringing Mark with her to such a party, maybe it was Christmas or Valentine’s but this cute little blonde haired boy tagged along that day and all of the girls fawned over him. He was only 4 or 5 years old and did I mention how cute he was?

Throughout the years our lives crossed paths. He was a lowly freshman when I was a senior in high school, and we shared some classes.

Years passed by and we found ourselves working together during many community events.

Mark believed in this community. He loved Atascosa County and was proud of his heritage of belonging to a pioneer family.

He loved to laugh, had no problem letting you know his opinion and didn’t care if you agreed or disagreed. He loved to eat out... especially Mexican food (with mariachis) and could cut a rug on the dance floor!

He loved everyone... friends and family, but especially his beautiful daughters, Emily and Chloe who delighted him.

The way I see it, our lives are better because we knew Mark. I know mine is.

That’s the way I see it, let me know your view – email me at selizondo@pleasantonexpress.com, or write at P.O. Drawer 880, Pleasanton, Tx 78064.
