ERIC SMITH | PLEASANTON EXPRESS Charlotte Trojanette Rayvn Schmidt slams one over the net during their road game in Poteet. The Trojanettes will travel to Three Rivers this weekend for a three day tournament. ERIC SMITH | PLEASANTON EXPRESS The Charlotte Trojanettes have dropped their first three games of the 2012-2013 season, but have shown plenty of positives along the way. The Trojanettes dropped a dual in Poteet, before falling to Leakey. Charlotte will now turn their attention to the Three Rivers Tournament where they will go up against a number of talented squads this weekend.

Poteet Dual- Charlotte visited the home of the Poteet Agates on Tuesday August 14th to face the Stockdale Lady Brahmas. The Trojanettes struggled to work as a team and fell to the Lady Brahmas 25-15 in the first game. Charlotte regrouped and hit the hardwood hard in the second game. They stayed afloat and fought back but it was not enough, Stockdale escaped with a victory over Charlotte in game two 25-20.

Suffering from the first defeat of their season, the Trojanettes shook it off and prepared to take on the Poteet Agates in match two. Lacking confidence and smart decisions Charlotte fell victim to the Agates with a 25-8 defeat in game one. The Trojanettes fought for the second match staying point for point with the Agates but could not pull out a win in the end as they fell 26-24.

Leakey- Friday August 17th, the Trojanettes hosted the Leakey Lady Eagles who are traditionally a very tough 1A playoff squad. Charlotte was hopeful to get out of their slight slump, but quickly were disappointed as they dropped three straight games 12-25,19- 25 and 11-25.

Upcoming Games: Three Rivers Tournament- Charlotte will take part in the Three Rivers Lady Bulldog tournament on August 23rd and 25th. The Trojanettes will be in Pool “B” on Thursday and will face the Runge Jackets at 10:45 and McMullen County at 12:15. After completion in pool play, teams will be placed into bracket play according to wins and losses. Bracket play will begin on Saturday at Three Rivers High School. A complete tournament bracket is available on our website under sports related documents on our sports page.

On Tuesday, August 28th the Trojanettes travel to Kenedy to face the Leopards with a 5:00 p.m. Jv and a 6:00 p.m. varsity contest.
