Jv Coach Brant Bird and the Pleasanton Lady Eagle squad hosted the traditional home dual with Devine and George West volleyball teams. The Lady Eagles stepped onto the hardwood court, energetic and prepared to go up against the tough George West Longhorns. Pleasanton was able to hit past the Lady Longhorns with 25-16 and 25-23 victories.

In the second game of the day, Pleasanton competed against the JV Devine Arabians. The Lady Eagles snagged the first win, 25-21 of the best out of three. The Arabians came out to play the next round picking up the second game with a 19-25 win. Although Pleasanton fought hard to stay in the game they fell short to the Arabians 26- 28 in the last rally.

On Wednesday, August 15th Pleasanton faced the Feast Patriots at home. With the ranting and encouragement of the crowd the Lady Eagles pushed forward and shut out the Patriots with 25-18 and 25- 14 victories.



Cole Tournament- Thursday and Friday the Lady Eagles traveled to the home of the Cole Cougars to participate in the tournament. Pleasanton faced the Natalia Mustangs in match one. The Lady Eagles came out aggressive and focused which in return allowed them to sweep the Mustangs 25-8 and 25-15.

The Lady Eagles carried their winning streak on to the second match of the day, where they battled the Sabinal Lady Jackets. Pleasanton defeated the Lady Jackets in two games 25-12 and 25-23. Championship game was against home team Cole. The Lady Eagles dominated in the next two sets with 25-6 and 25-10 wins, which put them in 1st place in the Cole tourney.

“In the championship game against Cole they were able to stay focused through both sets” stated Coach Bird.

“The Cole tournament was a good victory. The girls began each game strong and then seemed to move into cruise control. It was a good day for Pleasanton volleyball”.
