Lady Eagle Freshmen VB News
The Pleasanton Lady Eagle freshmen also participated in the home dual against George West and Devine on Tuesday, August 14th. The Lady Eagles faced George West as their first game of the season. The girls got off to a slow start in the first game and trailed too far behind to make a come back losing their first game 18-25. In the second game, Pleasanton played smart and came back with a 25-16 victory that forced a third game. In the last game, Pleasanton got into a slump and could not shake it off therefore allowing the George West Lady Horns to take a 13-25 victory over the Pleasanton Lady Eagles.
Pleasanton competed in match two against the Devine Arabians. With high hopes of snapping out of their funk, the Lady Eagles came out to the net aggressive and competitive. Although Pleasanton competed with high intensity, it just was not enough to take a win. Devine defeated the Lady Eagles in two games 23-25 and 23-25.
“This game the girls came out strong and played hard the whole game, but we had a few mental mistakes that cost us the game both times. We have to learn to work together on and off the courts and have confidence in each other. Again it’s the beginning of the season and we have to find what works for us,” stated Coach Palacios.
