Manuel C. Martinez, age 78, of Poteet, passed away Thursday, August 16, 2012, in San Antonio. Manuel was born April 14, 1934.

He is survived by his wife Connie Martinez of Poteet; daughters Sylvia Martinez Benitez of Poteet; son George Louis Martinez of Poteet; sisters Delfina Mejia and Dolores Martinez of Poteet, and Delmira Garcia of Round Rock and brother Rudy Martinez all of Poteet as well as grandchildren Christina, Lisa, Cindy, Ruben, Yvone, Chad, Matthew and Shelby and greatgrandchildren Arthur, Ricky, Savannah, Arelley, Analiah, Kendrick, Tori May, Hunter, Madelyn and Jovanni.

Mr. Martinez is preceded death by his parents Alberto and Trinidad (Cervantes) Martinez; son Manuel Martinez, Jr.; grandson Arthur Martinez Flores and brother Albert Martinez, Jr.

Visitation was held at Hurley Funeral Home in Pleasanton, from 2 - 8 p.m., Sunday, August 19, 2012. Funeral service was at Hurley Funeral Home at 9 a.m., Monday, August 20, 2012. Interment followed at First Memorial Park, Von Ormy.
