Pleasanton sets tax rate and hearings
At a special session on Aug. 20, the Pleasanton City Council unanimously set the proposed tax rate at $0.48977 per $100 valuation, which is a 5.58 percent increase over the effective tax rate for the fiscal year 2012-13.
Public hearings have been scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 6 and 13 at 7 p.m. to receive comments and answer questions on the proposed city budget and tax rate for the 2012-13 fiscal year.
Council unanimously adopted the proposed general fund budget for the fiscal year 2012-13, with possible corrections on the general and debt service fund rates as presented.
Council also unanimously approved the proposed utility fund budget and special funds budgets, to also include further discussion of the hotel/motel occupancy fund for the 2012-13 fiscal year.
