Pleasanton ISD Trustees voted at the August 14th meeting to drop the total tax rate from $1.14 to $1.13. While 2012 county appraisals may impact the actual tax levied based on appraised property value, PISD was pleased to be able to lower the rate on the community taxpayers.
Pleasanton ISD Executive Director of Administrative Services, Tracie Moos, presented to the Board of Trustees a proposed budget that decreases the district’s tax rate to $1.13. The rate includes $1.04 for Maintenance and Operations and 9 cents for Interest and Sinking.
Pleasanton ISD continues to be diligent in controlling the maintenance and operating costs in order to keep the district’s tax rate the lowest in Atascosa County, and in the surrounding region.
“It’s a great day to be an Eagle,” said Board President Frank A. “Butch” Tudyk Jr. “For the last several years, we have been running a lean, highly efficient district. This year we are fortunate enough to be in a position where we can reward our employees with pay increases, and reward our taxpayers by dropping the tax rate.”
