Winners for August beat the heat
Wesley and Mary Tymrak in front of their award-winning residence. Despite the harsh drought the business and residence of the month have beautiful and colorful yards. We are proud to give these awards to Gary’s Small Engine Repair and to Wesley and Mary Tymrak.
Gary Kalisek, the owner of his business at 812 Highway 97 has little if any green space in the front of his shop. He has attractively placed the three painted pots along the outside, which immediately draws attention to his store. In his pots, passersby can admire the pink and white hibiscus, and vincas. Behind these flowers, other tall beautiful plants highlight the pots.
Wesley and Mary Tymrak who have recently moved into our town have created a lovely yard. Located on a corner lot at 804 Commerce, this couple has a delightful variety of plants. Their yard, divided up in three sections, is lined with bullvines. Also there are yellow and orange esperanzas, plumbegos, and hibiscus which encircle the large birdbath.
At the business of Gary’s Small Engine Repair, Vernon Theis, Melissa Theis, Debbie Kalisek, Gary Kalisek, owner and Greg Kalisek. The Jourdanton Garden Club is so appreciative of the work done by these people. Keeping up one’s area is very difficult especially in this hot weather, but our recipients have accomplished it.
