Safe Schools/Healthy Students would like to invite the community out to the first ever Peace Out to Bullying 5K Run and 1.5 Mile Fun Walk on Saturday, September 29, at 8 a.m. at the Jourdanton City Park. Registration will begin at 7:30 a.m.

The event will be the kickoff to October as National Bullying Prevention Month and will be the first of many activities held on school campuses at Jourdanton ISD, McMullen County ISD, Pleasanton ISD, and Poteet ISD through the Safe Schools/ Healthy Students grant.

Race participants will receive a complimentary T-shirt and other items on a first come first served basis. Music and refreshments as well as activities for the kids will be provided, all free of charge.

Prizes for race winners and “Most Groovy Ensemble” will be awarded. Community organizations, clubs and businesses are invited to set up informational booths along with a child friendly activity. Online registration for the event is available at www.racesonline.com
