A benefit plate sale of carne guisada, rice and beans, with all the trimmings is planned for Anna Mejia, wife of Sammy Mejia (Pursch Motors), on Saturday, Sept. 1. There will also be a garage sale. The benefit will take place at 910 Market St. in Pleasanton.

Funds raised will go towards Mejia’s fight against bone marrow cancer.

The plate sale will take place between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. and the garage sale will run from Friday, Aug. 31 to Saturday, Sept. 1 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
