Joe TaylorThe Atascosa 4-H program held its annual 4-H Awards Banquet on Saturday, August 4th in Jourdanton. Over 180 attended this year’s 4-H banquet.

Atascosa County 4-H is comprised of over 250 youth members. Clubs meet monthly from September through May and summer activities are available. The following is a list of our 4-H Clubs and meeting times:

• Atascosa Club of Equine Enthusiasts (A.C.E.E.), 4th Monday of the Month, 7pm, First United Methodist Church, Pleasanton.

• Atascosa 4-H Homeschoolers Club, 1st Monday of the Month, 7:00 p.m., Lange Home, Jourdanton.

• Black Hill 4-H, 2nd Sunday of the Month, 6:00pm, Black Hill Comm. Bldg., Black Hill.Gold Star Recipients, Murray Grimshaw and Kendra Krueger.

• Chaparral 4-H, 2nd Sunday of the Month, 6 pm, Verdi Community Center, Verdi.

• Leming/Verdi 4-H, 2nd Monday of the Month 6:30pm, Verdi Community Center, Verdi.

• Little Atascosa Homeschoolers Clover Kids, 1st Monday of the Month; 3:15 pm, Pleasanton Church of Christ, Pleasanton.

• Lytle 4-H, 2nd Monday of the Month, 6:30pm, Lytle Middle School Cafeteria, Lytle.

• Mesquite 4-H, 2nd Monday of the Month, 7pm, First Baptist Church, Pleasanton.

There is a $20.00 participation fee per youth member, Clover Kids (8 years old and under) are free. Atascosa County Extension will be offering a Private Pesticide Applicator Training and testing on Thursday, August 30, 2012 at 8:00 a.m, Capital Farm Bronze Star Recipients, Autumn Hagen and Madison Lutz.Credit Jourdanton. $50 fee includes manual. RSVP is required by Monday 8/27. Call 830-769-3066.
