CBC students can earn college credit studying films
BEEVILLE, TX— Beginning fall 2012, Coastal Bend College students can enroll in a new film elective where they will study films ranging from Hollywood classics to modern favorites. The course is being offered as an English elective and will transfer as an elective course to a university.
Kathleen Cuyler, a fulltime English professor at the Beeville campus, will be teaching the course and says, “In this class, students will enjoy the entire movie-watching experience—complete with popcorn! They will learn to analyze films based on the major film elements: miseen scene (scene elements), cinematography, editing, and sound.”
The course will be offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11 am-12:20 pm. Students who wish to enroll in this new and exciting elective should visit with an advisor to register for English 2341: Topics in Literature: Film. To speak with a CBC advisor about registering for fall 2012, please call (361) 354-2266 or toll-free at 1-866- 722-2838 ext. 2266 for more information.
