A Poteet City Hall meeting was held Monday to address the issue of city gas cards being rejected at the pump when Poteet City Police were attempting to fill their tanks.

It was reported that the city’s overdue gas bill totaled $7,000 in payments and late fees.

Poteet Mayor Raul Ybarra said the issue has been resolved but had no comment on what may have gone wrong.

He said city staff members are looking into the situation and the officers who paid out of pocket for fuel have been reimbursed.
