Workshop for ALL teachers, registration extended
Atascosa County Farm Bureau, Atascosa AgriLife Extension, Texas Farm Bureau, Capital Farm Credit and Texas AgFinance will be hosting the 2012 Texas Farm Bureau Agriculture in the Classroom, Real World Science-Farming Across the Curriculum for teachers, grades 1-8. The program will be held on August 15 at the Jourdanton Community Center from 8:30 a.m. - 4 p.m. Lunch will be provided.
Hands-on workshop sessions include Cotton’s Journey: From Field to Fabric, Who ate our Corn? We Want to know and so should you! and Oh Say Can You Seed? All about Flowering plants.
Participants will receive Texas Farm Bureau’s “Food and Fiber for the 21st Century” (Ag in the Classroom Resource Guide with lessons correlated to TEKS and STAAR objectives); Cotton’s Journey: A Field Trip in a Box”; great teaching ideas for integrating agriculture into the classroom and six hours of CPE Credit (includes 3 hours g/t credit.
