ERIC SMITH | PLEASANTON EXPRESS The Poteet Agate Volleyball program is elevating their game to a new level.

This past Monday- Wednesday, July 23rd-25th over 30 7th-12th graders attended a camp at Poteet High School. The three day camp was hosted by the Texas Christian University Horned Frog Volleyball program.

TCU graduate assistant coach Paula Harris along with TCU camp coach Bradye Peniston were on hand to conduct the three day event.

Harris is a former college stand out at Division II. Central Missouri University. Peniston is a senior at current at C.M.U and starts as a middle blocker for the Mules.

Harris and Peniston led members of the Agates through three days of intense camp which focused on numerous aspects of the game of volleyball.

With volleyball season right around the corner, Poteet is hoping the extra preparation will result in success this season.

“I brought TCU in to do a camp for my incoming 7th graders through seniors. I wanted the girls to see different styles of coaching and to know what higher-level coaches expect. For the girls this camp means gaining knowledge on the game but also the experience of practicing and working out with college coaches. It will be something they will always remember,” stated Poteet Head Volleyball Coach, Angelica Garcia.

TCU will enter it’s first season as a member of the Big-12 which is no stranger to successful volleyball.
