Texans must work together to conserve water
Jourdanton – The epic drought of 2011 reminds all Texans of the importance of conserving precious water resources, according to Lloyd House, Atascosa County Farm Bureau president.
“Residents of Atascosa County are well aware of the devastation of this drought,” President House said. “Lawns shriveled and died in local towns and crops and pastures burned up in the county.”
President House said water needs in Texas stretch well beyond what flows from the tap.
“Water touches all our lives in many ways,” he said, “including growing the food and fiber that sustains us.”
That’s why all Texans must cooperate in conservation efforts, he said.
“Water is the key to the future of the Lone Star State,” President House said. “We must work together to conserve and preserve.”
