Salinas taking talent to the collegiate level
Former Somerset Bulldog Kamron Salinas will join the McMurry University swim team this coming school year. Kamron Salinas recently graduated from Somerset High School where he was the “One man swim team” amongst participating in many other activities from 2008-2012. Representing his school well, his best accomplishments came this, his senior year. Highlights include:
-District: 1st in the 100 yard Breaststroke and in the 100 yard Butterfly. Named district Male Swimmer of the Meet and of the Year
-Regional: 1st in the 100 yard Butterfly and 2nd in the 100 yd Breaststroke. Co-accolades include Regional Male Swimmer of the Meet and of the Year
-State: 6th in the 100 yard Breaststroke and 11th in the 100 yard Butterfly
Kamron is the son of proud parents Roland and Leticia Salinas of Poteet. He’s been swimming since the age of 7 years with Alamo Area Aquatics Association, his year round swim club team. These many years of hard work and dedication have paid off as he has recently accepted an Athletic Scholarship to Mc- Murry University in Abilene where he will swim with the “War Hawks” and relay as their Breaststroker.
