Atascosa Pregnancy Care Center News

The Refuge Atascosa Pregnancy Care Center is located at 506 West Adams St. in Pleasanton. The center is pleased to report it now has had a total of 243 new clients walk through their doors. They have 31 clients who are currently pregnant. There are 19 in transition (clients that should have delivered or that need retesting.) They have 74 clients that are now parenting clients in their “Hope Program.” Born since the last report: one new baby girl and one new baby boy. The center is having lots of donations and many clients visiting the Hope Closet. They have had no new salvations this month, but are still providing scripture memorization and church lists. Remember to always be in prayer concerning the presentation of the gospel.

Classes

•How to Make Your Children Mind Without Losing Yours, taught by Neda Hayes on Thursday at 5 p.m. is still having a large number of fathers attending with the mothers.

•Parenting Boys taught by Pastor Michael Flechsig meets Thursday at 6:30 p.m.

•Connect Bible Study taught by Carol Stafford (biblical teaching on relationships and life skills) meets on Mondays at 1 p.m.

•Christ Centered Child Birth taught by Brenda Minica just completed the first class. The new class will begin in August.

•Abuse Recovery- the first “Shadows to Sunshine” new class began June 5 at 6 p.m. with a great turnout.

Other news



The new storage container donated by Operation Christian Love is still waiting to be set on its blocks. Once it is, they will need volunteers to work on inside building shelves, placing lights, etc.

Connally Memorial on April 28, was a great success. They made lots of contacts and informed many people about The Refuge.

The Refuge was received warmly from the Jourdanton Rotary Club, which was interested in working with The Refuge.

This year’s “Love for Life Banquet” is set for October 20. The guest speaker will be Mike Williams of Ambassadors Speakers. They are planning for 30- 40 tables of 10. They will have barbecue catered. Organizers are looking for businesses and individuals to sponsor tables.
