All-Star run fizzles out

Area teams defeated at District 21 Tourney

COURTESY PHOTO Atascosa County Little League All-Star teams saw their 2012 action end at the District 21 Tournaments. The Pleasanton Major Girls had the most successful run as they fell to Uvalde in the Championship series of their tournament.

9-10 Year old Boys: The Pleasanton boys dropped their tourney opener to Uvalde 10-0. They would then defeat Jourdanton 15- 4, before losing their third and final game to 5-Diamonds 14-12.

Jourdanton dropped a 12-10 game to 5-Diamonds before falling to Pleasanton 15-4 ending their season.

Charlotte dropped a 15-4 game to Devine and a 14-13 game to 5-Diamonds.

The Poteet squad dropped a 15-2 game to 5-Diamonds before falling to Natalia 17-3.

9-10 Year old Girls: The Jourdanton All-Stars dropped an 11-0 contest to Jourdanton before falling to Devine 13-2.

Charlotte fell to Uvalde 14-3 defeating Sabinal 18-5. Charlotte’s season came to an end against Natalia as they defeated them 16-6.

10-11 Year Old Softball: Pleasanton dropped their opening game to a tough Uvalde squad 11-0. Pleasanton responded with a 12-2 victory over Pearsall and a 16-1 victory over Devine, which advanced them back to the Championship series. Pleasanton dropped the title game, 14-6 ending their season.



Little League Baseball: The Dilley boys had their way against the Pleasanton All- Stars. Dilley was able to down Pleasanton 5-4 in the opening game. Pleasanton responded with a 9-4 victory over Hondo and a 7-1 victory over Natalia. Dilley would end Pleasanton’s season with a 10-3 defeat.

The Jourdanton All-Stars were able to defeat Somerset 13-2, Hondo 5-0 before falling to Pearsall 10-1. Jourdanton’s season came to an end at the hands of Uvalde, 10-3.

Little League Softball: The Jourdanton Girls had a rough start to their tourney, dropping a 21-8 contest to 5-Diamonds. Jourdanton saw their season come to an end at the hands of Natalia, 8-4 .

The Pleasanton Girls got off to a rough start as well, as Somerset defeated them 8-2 in the tourney opener. Pleasanton was then able to defeat Hill Country 20-0, Pearsall 6-3 before falling to 5-Diamonds 15-1.

Junior Baseball: The Jourdanton Boys dropped a tough one to Uvalde 8-3 in the tournament opener. Natalia was then able to defeat J-town 16-4 ending their season.

Junior Softball: Charlotte/ Poteet dropped their tourney opener to Devine by a score of 11-0. Their season came to an end in their second game, as Uvalde topped them 13-3.

Pleasanton also dropped their tournament opener to Uvalde by a score of 7-2. Ptown then defeated Pearsall 12-9, before falling to Hill Country 15-4.

Senior Baseball: Charlotte/ Jourdanton dropped two games in a row to exit the tournament. They fell to 5-Diamonds 11-0 before Uvalde downed them 19-7.
