John Hansen of Portland died July 3, 2012. He was born in Effingham, Illinois on July 11, 1942.

He was a graduate of Southern Illinois University and Eastern Illinois University with degrees in Psychology He was a director of a mental health facility in Effingham, Illinois and an executive director of Comprehensive services in Mt. Vernon, Illinois. He was a clinical psychologist for Camino Real in Jourdanton for 11.5 years while living in Pleasanton with his sister Hope Macklin.

He served in the Army and was stationed in Viet Nam.

He is survived by his daughter Dori Clements and husband James of San Antonio and their daughters; his sister; his wife of Portland and two nieces and two nephews.

A memorial service is being planned in Rockport.
