Jourdanton groups retire old flags
A Girl Scout properly disposes a tattered flag. To round out Jourdanton Flag Day activities, a flag retirement was conducted at the Jourdanton City Park on Friday, June 15.
The Jourdanton Boy Scout Troop 356 and VFW Post Post 4853 conducted the ceremony as a service to their community. Fifty United States, State of Texas and Prisoner of War - Missing in Action (POW/MIA) flags were respectfully retired.
Those who participated in the ceremony wish to thank the Jourdanton Fire Volunteer Department for providing fire and EMS support. They also want to thank the City of Jourdanton for use of the park and the Jourdanton Police Department.
