LEON ZABAVA | PLEASANTON EXPRESS Elizabeth Crabb LEON ZABAVA | PLEASANTON EXPRESS The Brush Country Art Club’s Artist of the Month for July is Elizabeth Crabb. She is shown here displaying her work of art, “Brush Poppers.”

“Painting for me has always been such a pleasure. I could hardly wait to retire so I could spend more time creating,” said Crabb.

The painting “Brush Poppers” (an old Louis LaMour name) was based on photographs taken along Highway 16 South of Jourdanton and 281 North in Pleasanton. Using live studies shows the real movements and habits of the animals.

“What a blessing that something I enjoy can be passed along and enjoyed long after I am gone,” added Crabb.

Other paintings by this artist may be seen at La Villita Art Gallery in San Antonio and Rockport Art Center in Rockport.

Her work will be on display at Pleasanton City Hall throughout July.

Elizabeth’s longhorn series may be seen at the Pleasanton Museum during Pleasanton Homecoming.
