SCTICA meets in Atascosa
The Independent Cattlemen’s Association of Texas would like to invite all area cattlemen and women, farmers, and area rural folks to our regional meeting on July 19, 2012, beginning at 6:30 p.m. The meeting will be held at the Jourdanton Community Center across from the Atascosa County Jail and we will serve a complimentary barbeque dinner. Please join ICA members for an informative evening on issues concerning us all.
After the meal, ICA executive director Bill Hyman will give us an update from the Texas Animal Health Commission on the new tagging rules as well as other pertinent information that affects all areas of cattle raising in Texas.
Also on hand will be Mr. Dennis Hale, Agri-Life Extension Agent, who recently completed a 3-year study on coastal Bermuda and its nutrients retention. We heard Dennis speak in Karnes County in October 2010 and this will be a follow-up on the completion of the study. We all will want to hear the information on the values of the grasses for our cattle.
You are welcome to come join us and bring a neighbor with you. The meal is complimentary and you don’t have to be a member to join us for the meeting/meal. ICA represents the interest of all cattlemen and women of Texas and their concerns most of the time are the same as area farmers and those in the rural community dwelling. Come see what we are about, you will not be disappointed.
Please RSVP for the meal count by calling Brad Cotton at 830-391-0337; Dickie Jackson at 830-391-3153 or A.L. “Windy” Miller at 210-215- 1139.
