Wild about biology
On April 26, as part of their study of animals, the Second Grade Science Team of Pleasanton Primary invited wildlife biologists, Mr. Alan Cain and Mr. David Veale to give a hands-on presentation about animal adaptations, migration and hibernation.
Mr. Cain and Mr. Veale are both biologists for the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, so their presentation focused on animals that are found here in Texas.
They brought skulls, skins and mounted animals for the students to handle as they learned about the various adaptations that help these animals meet their basic needs.
All thirteen second grade classes had an opportunity to see, feel and hear about these animals and how they live in Texas.
