Pie Contest May 12

Do you have a favorite pie recipe that has been passed down from generation to generation in your family? Have you wanted to show off your baking skills to friends and neighbors? Do you love to bake for fun? If your answer is yes, then here is your chance to get recognized by all.

Cowboy Fellowship is hosting a Pie Contest as part of the Heritage Days celebration in May. The rules are simple and anyone can enter. The four pie categories are: Fruit, Nut, Berry and Cream. Pies can be entered between 9 and 10:15 a.m. on Saturday, May 12. Judging will begin at 10:30 a.m. Recipe must be attached to the entry. All pies must be in a disposable 9 inch pan.

One entry per category will be accepted. No refrigeration will be available. Pies will be judged on appearance, crust, flavor and originality. There is no entry fee for the pie contest. All pies will become the property of Cowboy Fellowship at the time of registration.

After the judging is complete, pie slices will be sold to the public. Bring a pie for the contest or just come out to enjoy the Heritage Days celebration on May 11-12. There will be a ranch rodeo, a youth rodeo and a team roping along with a petting zoo area and demonstrations from the Badland Rangers and Texas Buffalo Soldiers. All events are free and open to the public.

Cowboy Fellowship is located at 561 FM 3350. Pie contest entry forms can be submitted online at www.cowboyfellowship.org.
