Come celebrate Easter with First Baptist Church- Poteet

Easter Sunday is fast approaching and many people in Atascosa County are wondering what they’re going to do on Easter morning. They may be asking “Where are we going to go to church to celebrate the Risen Lord, Jesus Christ?” All of us at FBC Poteet invite you to come and celebrate with us as we worship Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. He is the one who died on the cross for you and who rose from the dead on the third day.

Easter worship at FBC Poteet will be a great day to come join many of your neighbors and friends as we celebrate all that Jesus Christ has done and is doing in our lives. FBC Poteet is a congregation of loving men and women who have placed their faith in the Word of God.

The deacons of FBC Poteet will be serving breakfast Easter morning at 8:30 a.m. in the fellowship hall. Sunday school classes will begin at 9:45 a.m. We will be sharing in the ordinance of the Lord’s Supper during the morning worship service which begins at 11 a.m.

This is the last week that you can sign up your youth for Pre-Easter Retreat at Alto Frio Baptist Camp. All youth, grades 6-12, are eligible to go and enjoy all the great fun that will be had. The dates for Pre-Easter Retreat are April 5-7. Sign up your child today by calling the church office at 830-742-3856.

All the men in Atascosa County are invited to attend a Wild Game Breakfast on April 21 here in the fellowship hall. The breakfast will begin at 8:30 a.m. Eggs, biscuits, gravy and wild game sausage will be served. There will also be a guest speaker who will be speaking on leaving a legacy. Cowboy Fellowship

Cowboy Fellowship will celebrate the Easter season with two weekend events.

On Friday, April 6, families can come to Jourdanton City Park to hunt Easter eggs. There will be 21,000 eggs and free candy for everyone. Easter Sunday services will be at 10:45 am at Cowboy Fellowship located on FM 3350.

First United Methodist Church

First United Methodist Church, located at 420 N. Main St. in Pleasanton, will hold the following services in April:

Palm Sunday: April 1, at 10:45 a.m.

Good Friday Drama Service: April 6, at 6:30 p.m.

Easter Day, April 8, at 10:45 a.m.

St. John Lutheran Church

St. John Lutheran Church members invite you to worship with them during Lenten season and Holy Week.

Lenten Services continue each Wednesday evening at 7 p.m. until -March 28. There is an evening meal of homemade soup and bread at 6 p.m. before each service.

Holy Week begins with Palm Sunday Service at 10:15 a.m. April 1 and continues with Maundy Thursday Service and Good Friday Service at 7 p.m.

St. John hosts the annual Community Sunrise Service on Easter Sunday, April 8 at 6:30 a.m. followed by breakfast in the fellowship hall. Easter Celebration continues with Holy Easter Service at 10:15 a.m.

Pastor Scott Anderson and St. John members invite you to join them for breakfast and Sunday School every Sunday at 9 a.m. followed by Worship Service at 10:15 am.

First Baptist Church Jourdanton

First Baptist Church of Jourdanton will have Sunday School at 9:45 a.m. At 11 a.m. the choir will be performing the Easter Cantata “Near the Cross” on Easter Sunday morning.

Following the service they will have an Easter luncheon meal and an Easter egg hunt for the children. Everyone is invited.
