Eagle Golf takes 1st at Uvalde
Led by Eagle sophomore standout James Sandoval, the Pleasanton varsity Eagles were able to capture the Uvalde Tourney Title for a second straight year last weekend in Uvalde. Pleasanton was able to shoot a two day total of 682, which allowed them to capture the trophy.
Sandoval started off on Friday, March 9th with a pretty good day on the course with a 80 total. On day two, James was very impressive as he dominated the 18-hole course with a score of 65 which equaled to a two day total of 145 to win 1st place medalist for a second straight year.
Pleasanton’s John Merryman was next in line for the Eagles, as he shot an 87 on day one and an 85 on day two for a two day total of a 172.
Other finishes: Justin Llamas 90-88-178, Chase Arnold 102-87-189 and Jonathan Gallegos 100-93-193.
“The guys did an outstanding job especially on the second day on the course, despite the terrible conditions. They fought through it and played very well,” stated Coach Michael Guerra.
Upcoming Meet- The Lady Eagles will travel to Uvalde for a tournament on Tuesday, March 20th. The Eagles next meet will be on Friday and Saturday, March 23rd and 24th at the Holmes Meet.
