Outstanding BPA students travel to State Conference
Jourdanton chapter members, Matthew Faulkner, Aaron Lopez, Murray Grimshaw, Shahnil Merchant, Trevor McKinney, Joshua Jenkins, Morrigan Peltier, Amantha Hons, Jennifer Alvord, Blanca Baeza and Camdyn Brister will join over 2,500 other conference delegates from across the state to participate in state level business skill competitions, general sessions, and the state officer candidate campaigns and elections. Besides having the opportunity to excel, they’ll experience Dallas as they visit the city’s exciting sites.
“Students from the Texas Association’s Regional Leadership Conference have qualified to participate at the state level conference. The conference emphasizes business workforce education and training which members of the local chapter of Business Professionals of America at Jourdanton have received,” said chapter advisor Robert M. Wiede, who teaches Computer Programming, BIM-1 and 2, and Digital Graphics/ Animation. Shahnil Merchant will participate in Advanced Spread Sheet Applications, Morrigan Peltier in Fundamentals of HTML, and Joshua Jenkins in Computer Security. Matthew Faulkner, Murray Grimshaw, Amantha Hons, Jennifer Alvord, Blanca Baeza, Aaron Lopez and Trevor McKinney will participate in the Parliamentary Procedure Team Competition. Camdyn Brister will have an opportunity to participate in the State Internship Program.
Business Professionals of America is a national organization for middle school, high school, and college students preparing for careers in business and office occupations. The organization’s activities and programs complement classroom instruction by giving students practical experience through application of skills learned at school.
