Pleasanton Eagle Golf wins 1st place
The Pleasanton Eagle Varsity Golf team was able to capture 1st place at their home tournament this past weekend. Members of the Eagle Golf team are: Jonathon Gallegos, Justin Llamas, John Merryman, Chase Arnold and James Sandoval.
COURTESY PHOTO The Pleasanton Eagle Varsity Golf team was able to win 1st place at the conclusion of their two-day event. Led by James Sandoval who captured 1st place, the Eagles combined for a team score of 684 to beat seven teams in attendance.
James Sandoval was able to finish in 1st place with a two day total of 151. On day one, he shot an impressive 74 before finishing with a 77 on day two.
Pleasanton Eagle Chase Arnold was next in line, finishing in 2nd place medalist with a 167 two day score. He finished with an 86 on day one and a 81 on day two.
Other scores- Justin Llamas 92-93-185, John Merryman 91-90-181,Jonathan Gallegos 112-108-220, (Medalists-) Matthew Forehand 108-107-215 and Trey Grantham 128-116-244.
Jourdanton also competed in the tournament. The Indians finished with a two day tourney total of a 929. Kye Burris led the Indians as he finished with a 106 on day one and a 104 on day two for a 210 total. Other finishes: Derrick Burris 118-110-228, Kenny Huschke 127-117-244, Thomas Gaither 126-122-248 and Sheldon Hudson 140-121-261.
Other teams in attendance: Devine 713, Randolph 807, Uvalde 758, Lytle 860, Southside 786 and athletes from Natalia, and Pearsall.
The Eagles will compete in Devine on Friday, February 24th beginning at 8:00 a.m. and in San Marcos on Monday, February 27th.
