Primary students jump for heart health

Jill Svoboda

Reed Foster Reed Foster Pleasanton Primary participated in a community service program called Jump Rope for Heart to benefit the American Heart Association on February 15th.

In the days leading up to the event, students were educated on healthy habits in their PE classes. They discussed how to keep their heart strong through healthy eating habits, exercising, and staying away from smoking. Students also learned about healthy foods and how their heart works.

The students had also been practicing their jumping skills and demonstrated those skills at the Jump Rope for Heart Event. There were many amazing jumpers and everyone had a fantastic time. A special thank you to HEB for donating a healthy snack of bananas and juice.

It was a warm day and the students enjoyed the refreshments. All of the money raised will go to the American Heart Association to fund research for those affected by heart disease.
