The Way I See It

An open invitation
Sue Brown

Hello candidate. So, you’re running for office I hear. Don’t you want to let voters know who you are and why you are running?

Of course you do.

Some of you took advantage of the Candidate’s Forum last week hosted by the Brush Country Tea Party.

Please take some time out of your busy campaigning schedule and send us a 250 word write up and a photo of yourself. If you don’t have one, we’ll be glad to help you out and take one of you to be included.

You can either email it to me, mail or fax (not the photo, though) to us by March 30. It will appear in the April 18 issue. It will include the city and school candidates as well as the primary candidates (hopefully the primary election date will be set soon.)

It is a free service, but we will always welcome paid advertising.

Remember, all political minded letters to the editor will cease one month prior to the elections.

Another reminder - register now if you have not registered or voted in the last two Federal elections. The voter registration cards have been delayed getting out due to the redistricting woes.

You can check online to see if you are registered by going to the Secretary of State website: www.sos.tx.us and clicking on the “Am I Registered to Vote? link in the Voter Information box. By entering either your Texas Driver’s License, your VUID (Voter Unique Identifer - on your voter’s registration certificate) or your first and last name.

The way I see it, I hope the ones who are running participate in this opportunity. I also hope voters will come out in hefty numbers this year to support their candidates and causes.

That’s the way I see it, let me know your view – email me at sbrown@pleasantonexpress.com, or write at P.O. Drawer 880, Pleasanton, Tx 78064.
