The reporting of the Poteet City Council meeting in last week’s paper has caused some concern among many local citizens. This was exclusively the result of an awkwardly worded sentence; “The Trail Riders did a benefit for the library a long time ago and the city has still not accounted for the money and they have not received it.”

The Trail Riders did the benefit, but the Library itself never saw the money. The Trail Riders gave the funds to the city, which was proper procedure. However, the city has not accounted for those monies to the Library or the Library Board. In no way, was this statement meant as a slight against the Trail Riders, who are well known for their fundraising efforts for many worthwhile organizations.

In the FM476 wreck photo on page 3A, it was reported the accident occurred on Wednesday, February 15. The accident actually happened on Wednesday, Feb. 8.
