Relationships matter at Cowboy Fellowship
Pictured are Mona and Steven Schaub renewing their marriage vows during a Recommitment Service on Sunday, February 19 at Cowboy Fellowship. Relationships are the cement that bond our lives. We are all surrounded by relationships in our everyday world. We have personal and professional associations, serious and casual connections and positive and negative relationships. Throughout the month of February, Cowboy Fellowship congregations have been learning about the importance of relationships.
Pastor Pete Pawelek has encouraged each person to examine their life and make relationships a priority in 2012. It’s not just about personal and family bonds, but about using every contact in your life to make or mend a relationship this year.
Two examples of building stronger relationships occurred this past Sunday, Feb. 19. Twenty parents registered to attend a seminar to strengthen parenting skills and family ties. The session was led by Adam Shelbourne, Children’s Minister at Cowboy Fellowship. The feedback was positive and the parents walked away with new knowledge and encouraged spirits as they face the challenges of raising children in today’s world.
Following the morning service, there was an opportunity for married couples to renew their marriage vows and commit to work together in a spirit of partnership. Fifty-three couples stayed for the ceremony. The couple married for the least amount of time and the longest amount of time joined Pastor Pete and his wife, Abby, on the stage. Pastor Pete emphasized the mission of Cowboy Fellowship and how it relates to couples as they connect, grow and serve Christ as a person, as couples and as families. He led the men in a re-commitment of vows and then Abby led the women to state their vows. Everyone sealed the ceremony with a kiss and certificates to recognize each couple were given.
Some exciting events are being planned at Cowboy Fellowship. On March 4, there will be a class about Islam for adults to attend. On March 10, the youth are taking a camping trip and Baby dedications are scheduled for March 25. The Community Easter Egg Hunt and the Cowboy Fellowship Anniversary weekend event will round out the spring, so watch the paper for details in weeks ahead.
If you are looking for a church that can help you and your family, join us at Cowboy Fellowship. You will find friendly folks to get you connected so that you can grow and serve Christ every day. Everyone is welcome to attend weekly services on Sunday mornings at 10:45. Don’t wait another week. Come check it out and find out how to make your relationships stronger in 2012.
