Ash Wednesday

St. John Lutheran Church

St. John Lutheran Church members invite you to worship with us during Lenten Season and Holy Week. Ash Wednesday Services will be held Feb. 22 at 7 p.m. Lenten Services continue each Wednesday evening at 7 p.m. from Feb. 29-March 28. Beginning Feb. 29 join us for an evening meal of Homemade Soup and Bread at 6 p.m. before each service.

Holy Week begins with Palm Sunday Service at 10:15 a.m. April 1 and continues with Maundy Thursday Service and Good Friday Service at 7 p.m.

St. John hosts the Annual Community Sunrise Service on Easter Sunday April 8 at 6:30 am followed by breakfast in the fellowship hall. Easter Celebration continues with Holy Easter Service at 10:15 a.m.

Pastor Scott Anderson and St. John members invite you to join us for breakfast and Sunday School every Sunday at 9 a.m. followed by Worship Service at 10:15 am.

Bishop Reed to conduct Ash Wednesday service at All Saints’

The Rt. Rev. David Reed, Suffragan Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of West Texas, will conduct the Ash Wednesday Service on Feb. 22 at 1 p.m. at All Saints’ Episcopal Church in Pleasanton.

The Episcopal Church welcomes and invites all to attend. Bishop Reed, a native of Brownsville, earned a Bachelor of Journalism degree from UT in Austin and taught school before going into the seminary. He served churches at Harlingen and Victoria prior to being elected Bishop Suffragan.

Bishop Reed and the Rt. Rev. Gary Lillibridge, Bishop of the Diocese of West Texas, will be conducting the annual Diocesan Council Feb. 16-18 in McAllen. Theme of the council is “Abound in Hope.” Christelle and Richard Troell of Pleasanton will be attending as delegates from All Saints’.

All Saints’ is located on Hwy. 97W in Pleasanton across from Virginia Twins Garden Market.

FUMC Pleasanton

First United Methodist Church, 420 N. Main, invites you to a moving and very meaningful Ash Wednesday Service on February 22, at 6:30 p.m. The service will include Holy Communion to which all who love Christ are invited.

The mass and distribution of ashes at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Leming will be at 7 p.m.

St. Philip Poteet

St. Philip of Benizi Catholic Church in Poteet will hold Ash Wednesday mass on Feb. 22 at 6 a.m. and also at 12 noon, 5 p.m. and 7 p.m.

Father Albert Lelo will be going to Poteet Manor at 10 a.m., Julie’s Care Home at 1:30 p.m. and The Heights at 3 p.m.
