Out and About
Over the next few weeks there’s so much going on in the Brush Country. With dinners, concerts, sporting events, you really can’t complain that there isn’t anything to do!

Artist of the Year
Lee Ricks, Jr. will be awarded the Artist of the Year by the Brush Country Art Club this Thursday, February 23 at 5 p.m. in the City of Pleasanton Council Chambers. Congratulations to a very talented and worthy gentleman. Please read Thelma Cardwell Cale’s article on page 1B.
Red Priest and Pirates of the Baroque
Wayne Beyer, local CPA and auditor for various institutions, has helped to bring Red Priest to Pleasanton via the San Antonio Chamber Music Society. The entertaining group will be performing in San Antonio on Sunday, March 4 but will also be at the Douglas R. Williamson Performing Arts Center on Tuesday, March 6 at 2:30 p.m. A reception will follow at the City of Pleasanton Council Chambers. For more details, please see the article on page 4B.
Army Field Band Jazz Ambassadors
If you have ever heard the talented musicians of the U.S. Army Field Band Jazz Ambassadors, you are in luck. If you haven’t you’re in for a great treat.
They will be performing on Tuesday, March 13 at the Douglas R. Williamson Performing Art Center. The concert is free, but each person must have a ticket for admittance. Tickets will be available for distribution on Monday, Feb. 27 at the Pleasanton Express.
