Pleasanton Eagle Soccer begins district Friday

The Pleasanton Eagles were able to split non-district games during their week of non-district action. The Eagles started the week off with their second victory of the season over S.A. Hawkins, before dropping a heart breaking loss to the Uvalde Coyotes. The Eagles fall to 2-9 on the season, as they prepare for their district opener this week.

S.A. Hawkins- The Eagles faced S.A. Hawkins who is new to the world of competing in soccer. The Eagles picked up another lop-sided victory over Hawkins, 11-0.

Scoring goals for the Eagles during the game included: Beto Garcia (2), John Bast (3), Alfredo Perez (1), Ryan Morlock (1), Rene DeLaGarza (1), Mason Hodgin (1), Tyler Moore (1) and Jacob Rodriguez had five saves.

Uvalde- On Friday night, the Uvalde Coyotes came to town for Pleasanton’s final non-district game of the season.

“We controlled the tempo for most of the game, but unfortunately we got scored on with ten seconds to go which ended with the loss,” stated Coach Gerald Bermea.

The Eagles fell to Uvalde, 3-2. Alfredo Perez and Rene DeLaGarza accounted for goals during this game, as Beto Garcia accounted for an assist.

District play begins- The Eagles will host the McCollum Cowboys this weekend for the first 57-4A games of the season. On Friday, February 17th the Varsity Eagles battle the Cowboys with a 7:00 p.m. start. On Saturday, Feb. 18th the JV Eagles battle the Cowboys at 12:00 noon.

On Tuesday, Feb. 21st the Eagles will travel to Beeville to battle the Trojans with a Jv game at 5:30 and a varsity game at 7:00 p.m.
