Students perform at the Poteet Intermediate Campus. Right before they started dreaming of sugar plums dancing in their heads a group of students from Poteet Intermediate Campus put on a theatrical performance for the community. Funds raised from the annual event go to the school’s gifted and talented program‘s annual trip to the Majestic Theatre.

The Dec. 16 performance included two new changes to the PIC‘s theatre night. The first was a dinner before the performance. The second was the play performance, A Countdown to Christmas, purchased from music line productions, was a musical. In addition to showing off their acting skills, students also showed off their musical talents. To help aide our young thespians, a choir was selected to perform the songs along with the stage performers.

The evening’s entertainment was rounded out with gingerbread cookie decorating and a silent auction. Gingerbread cookies were baked by Ms. Laurie Stephens’ high school Family and Consumer Science classes. Ms. Sharon Chilek and Mrs. Lettie Bautista spent many hours gathering donations from several local businesses and community members.
