Thurman Jennings “T.J.” Mitchell III, age 46, of La Grange, passed away on Monday, January 30, 2012. He was born Feburary 3, 1965 in San Antonio.

He is survived by his wife, Tammy Mitchell of La Grange; his daughter Shayla Mitchell of Corpus Christi; his son Thurman “T.J” Mitchell IV of La Grange; his mother Elizabeth Mitchell of La Grange; his father Thurman Mitchell, Jr. and wife Camilla of Pleasanton; his sisters Kristi Beck of Flatonia, Laurie Eskew of Bastrop and step brother Mikel Allen of Pleasanton. He is also survived by his grandmother Ruth Mertz of Bastrop; his aunt Barbara Williamson of Universal City, Freddie Lee Boortz of West, Texas, and Bonnie Beth Kilroy of New Orleans, Louisiana as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his stepfather, Billy Mitchell; his grandparents Thurman, Sr. and Bonnie Lee Mitchell; his grandfather Rodney Mertz and his aunt, Edwina Christian and Joan Dowden.

Visitation was held for Mr. Mitchell on Saturday, February 4, 2012 at Hurley Funeral Home in Pleasanton, from 8 a.m. until 12 p.m. A graveside service followed immediately at Pleasanton City Cemetery.
