Well, we made it through the Super Bowl, didn't we! But, I wonder how many of you participated in the "SOUPER Bowl of Hunger"? If your congregation chose not to participate but you would still like to help your county's food bank at CAM, contact your CAM representative, or call CAM for information. And, remember, CAM is there to serve you!

It's so great to get our community's news like we get in our newspaper. So glad to see all the young people with their animals and their ribbons from the shows they participate in. Let’s hope there are lots of people that choose to continue to supply our food. We'd be in big trouble if we had to grow all our own, wouldn't we.

Congratulations to the Dumas family! Both Morgan and Seth were selected to be on their respective colleges Dean's lists. I haven't seen them in ages but was surprised that they have really grown up. They are children of Dan and Terri Dumas, some Verdi neighbors!

I hope you have the opportunity to take advantage of the "Non-partisan Candidate Forum Presentation" that is being advertised. This is inviting you to come and meet the candidates that will be running for offices in your government! The one I am speaking of is Monday evening, February 13, at 6:30 p.m. It will be held at the American Legion Hall in Jourdanton and is being hosted by the Bush Country Tea Party. Don't worry if you are a bit late. No one seems to remember that there are people who work in San Antonio and find it hard to be anywhere at 6:30, so they'll understand.

I haven't a clue who will be there, but I'll be interested to find out. Hope you are interested enough to show up. If I hear of any other meet and greet type things about the election, I'll let you know. Maybe some day when the council in Pleasanton finally votes on the community center, we can have a meeting in Pleasanton! Wouldn't that be great?!
